We specialize in introducing kids and adults to the world of programming and building of electronic projects for your home and business. We take an easy step-by-step approach to learning how to program. Our goal is to ensure that everyone has a chance to get started with computer programing and building of electronic projects. Absolutely no experience is needed to start with us. We start at the basics and build from there at your pace.
We start with the basics. We will cover the basic hardware. Our instructors will start with explaining the parts of the basic computer and will then move into the software and how it interacts with the hardware to make lights blink, buzzers buzz and will even work with sensors to receive input from the outside world.
You don’t even need a computer to get started. We conduct all of our class work using the Raspberry Pi® (a single board computer). We will arrive with all the components needed to start the class. We will use the HDMI inputs on your TV as a display. If you don’t have a TV with HDMI, no problem, we will bring along a monitor.
Alaska RasPi is currently offering an introductory price of $30 per class hour for introduction to world of programming and project building. We will never rush you through the lessons. Everyone is different and we will work our lesson plans to suit your needs as best we can. Children who learn programing early on are more adept at problem solving in all areas of life, as they grow older.
The classes are held in your home around your schedule. We can work 1 – 2 hour sessions during the week as well as the weekends. The schedule for classes are based on a first come first scheduled basis. We will work to ensure that everyone has enough time to learn at his or her unique learning pace.
It is our goal to see that everyone who would like to learn how to program and build electronic projects has the opportunity to have hands on experience. No prior experience is needed. With our lessons and instruction you WILL succeed in completing the projects we offer. This is not over-the-shoulder learning, you will have hands-on building.
